1. INTRODUCTION
Philip Talbot, Director of Golf, invites you to sample the practice facilities at our golf club. These include a full swing warm up facility, an excellent bunker, chipping and pitching area with a green built to full course specification, a practice putting green and our unique 6-hole “Short Course Academy”.
If it’s an individual or small group lesson you are looking for we cater for all. From scratch golfer to complete novice, our team will look after every standard of player.
Philip Talbot is an FPGA member of the British PGA and has 20 years of coaching experience. A former European Tour player he has had the opportunity to play with the world’s best golfers and learn from the world’s leading coaches. His coaching philosophy is simple: CREATE GOOD IMPACT.

There are many different styles that you see, but there are only 5 laws to impact. They are:- Correct swing path;
- Correct face angle;
- Correct angle of approach;
- Club head speed;
- Centeredness of contact
With an understanding of why the ball does what it does with simple diagnosis and explanation techniques a pupil will understand how to self correct their faults. With simple tried and tested exercises the golfer can then maintain the correct feel to their swing with or without a club, wherever he may be!

Course craft / Playing skills
Are you playing the right shot at the right time? Sharpen your mental skills by simulating real “live” on course situations on the short course academy.
The short game
Did you know 75% of all golf shots are played from under 75 yards? What’s the club we all mis-hit the most? You may be surprised it’s the putter! Why, because we all use it the most. Do you think you practise this area enough now you’ve read this?

2. FACILITIES
A unique “short course” built and maintained to the highest level. Six holes ranging in length from 15 to 302 metres provide a gentle and fun challenge. This is an ideal area to encourage new golfers to learn to play in a relaxed, stress free environment. The course has its very own scorecard and local rules. Playing lessons are often conducted here where strategy and course craft is developed.
The Short Game Area
With bunkers available and a green built to on course specification offering different pin locations there is no excuse not to improve your short game. Chipping, pitching and bunker play can all be practised in a safe environment.
Putting Green
The putting green situated next to the 1st tee and clubhouse will give you the opportunity to groove your stroke before play or after play if a little work is required.
Warm Up Area
For full swing diagnosis, explanation and correction. This is where those fundamental faults can be eradicated once and for all.
3. THE PROFESSIONAL STAFF
Philip Talbot, the Director of Golf, works alongside Edgar Rodrigues from Madeira. They offer individual and group coaching when required.
