Madeira Island is just a few hours’ flight away from Europe’s main capitals. There are many international airlines operating regular flights that arrive daily at Madeira’s new airport, located on the Eastern end of the island.
From the airport to the city of Funchal it’s a mere twenty minutes car ride. Visitors can opt between the Navette shuttle, a regular bus or a taxi. If you prefer a hired car, just contact one of the rent-a-car companies at the airport. Madeira has a modern roadway system with various main roads, and a motorway.
Porto Santo is just a fifteen-minute plane ride away from Madeira, or one and a half hours flight from Lisbon. To reach Porto Santo you can opt between daily flights or the ferry which connects the two islands in a two and a half hour ride.
